Bishop Raymond & Pastor Lorna Burch

Raymond was born in New Jersey and raised in Jesup, GA. Upon graduating from Wayne County High School, he joined the United States Army and retired with 20 years of service. He answered the knock at the door of his heart in 1997, when he became disillusioned and disgusted with the direction of his life. God delivered him from years of anger, pride, alcohol, drug abuse, and much more. Once he committed his life to Christ, there was no turning back. He is a man of valor, a man of great integrity, and a man of wisdom.  God has gifted him to minister in a powerfully sensitive way.

Raymond is an ordained bishop in the Church of God of Cleveland, TN. He also serves as South Georgia's Black Ministries Coordinator and as a re-elected member of the 2016-2018 State Council for the South Church of God State Executive Office in Tifton, Georgia.

Bishop Burch has earned a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida in June 2017. He is the host pastor and lead instructor of Southeast Georgia Bible Institute in Waycross, Georgia. He has recently completed the Executive Leadership program facilitated by Dr. Fred Garmon in Cleveland, TN.

Lorna, his wife of 20 years, is the daughter of a U.S. Army retired veteran. She was born in Germany and was raised in Europe, Texas, and Kansas. She is an ordained minister in the Church of God of Cleveland, TN. Lorna has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Life Christian University in Tampa, Florida. She is also an instructor at Southeast Georgia Bible Institute. She became the first woman to be elected on any state-elected board for South Georgia Church of God in 2016. (Raymond and Lorna are the first couple to serve simultaneously on elected boards in South Georgia.) Lorna is serving on the South Georgia Church of God Youth and Discipleship Board for 2016-2018. She has recently completed the Executive Leadership program facilitated by Dr. Fred Garmon in Cleveland, TN.

Lorna has a passion for teaching the Word, encouraging pastors'/ministers’ wives, and leading worship. Her mission in life is to be a helpmate to her husband. She is the author of a book entitled Leading Ladies which will encourage women serving alongside their husbands in ministry. Lorna started “Connect” in January 2017 to bring Leading Ladies together for encouragement and support in the Waycross community.

Raymond and Lorna are very active in the community.  They serve as mentors to the students of the Ware County Learning Center. Raymond is a mentor to the football players of Ware County High School. Lorna is a graduate of Leadership Waycross Class of 2016 and is serving a three-year term as a director for the Waycross-Ware Chamber of Commerce.  Lorna is on the Executive Board for 2017 serving as the treasurer for the Chamber. She also served on the Public Relations Committee for 2015-2016 and is serving on the Workforce Development subcommittee in 2017.

Raymond and Lorna are very passionate about encouraging married couples and building ministry leaders.

They have three adult children: Whitney of Hazlehurst, Georgia; Jamal of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Keyara of Waycross, Georgia and many spiritual children.
